Labor Day Weekend was magical in the Magic City this weekend. There was a long list of events one could attend. Unfortunately, not all events appeared on our radar. The events that did were definitely worth attending.
Eric Essix’s Jazz Escape hit the “Magic City Radar” this weekend. Held at Renaissance Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa, this event featured three days of silky, smooth jazz tunes from some of the best jazz artists, near and far. The event was nothing less than a wonderful delight. Anyone who attended and really appreciates good jazz music felt the “magic” in the Magic City. Performances in the Eric Essix Jazz Escape were, none other than Eric Essix himself, Eric Davis, Alex Bugnon, and many other great jazz artists, all of whom were more than pleasing to the ear.
The “Magic City Radar” was fortunate enough to hear and see the Good Times Brass Band as well as Joey Sommerville. The enchanting sounds of these artists provided a charming evening of sitting on the Renaissance Hotel patio as you overlooked the calming waters of the pool, all of which set an indescribable mood for those in attendance. The musical presentations coupled with good food and refreshing spirits set the tone for a perfect pre-holiday event. Hopefully, these events will return next year. Certainly, there will be other similar events of this caliber held in the “Magic City” in the near future. The city’s music loves appreciate and desire a culture and climate that blossoms and flourishes from similar events.
